Four Signs God is Getting Nearer (or don’t give up yet!)

Many of us have felt and are aware that our Mother Earth is undergoing a huge spiritual shift. We are all being invited to join her. Even those around us who doubt the spiritual can’t deny that something big is going on. Big, global and surreal. Disconcerting, uncomfortable and scary.

There is evidence, in the midst of all this fear and darkness, that God (the Divine, Goddess, the Great Spirit, the Christ light, the Sacred) is nearer than its been in a long time. The way I see it, God is returning to an increasingly Godless world.

Chapter 11 of C.S. Lewis’ ‘The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe’ is titled ‘Aslan is Nearer’. Allegorically, Aslan represents Christ / God and He has been absent from a world that has been consumed by darkness and fear, ruled over by an evil witch. But rumours are that He will return to the world, called Narnia in the book. Long before anyone sees the mighty lion, there are other signs that He is on His way. Magic and miracles occur which fill the Narnian’s’ hearts with hope.

I think the same is happening here. While the increasing darkness is ever more obvious, the rising light can be less apparent however these are four clear signs that ‘God is getting nearer’:

1. Instant manifestation

One of the sacred laws of the Universe is that our thoughts manifest our reality. In the slow, heavy vibration of the 3D world, there is a long time lapse between thought and what eventually turns up in our physical reality. If we want to achieve something, we visualise it and think about it. The time lapse before it arrives can cause us to get impatient. For example, setting up my own Sacred Celebrant training was a vision I had back in 2013, it took 7 years to manifest that one. By comparison, when I started visualising training celebrants in 2016, just 6 weeks later I 'coincidentally' met the owner of a Celebrant Training school who offered me a training job. Six weeks felt fast!

A longer time lapse is preferable when it comes to negative thoughts which can attract illness and accident into our reality. During the lapse, we get the chance to change our negative thought patterns, and the consequences may never arrive.

However, right now, we need to be super vigilant as the manifestations are happening fast. A friend of mine shared recently that he was round at his mum’s scrolling through Instagram, with his little dog sitting beside him. He found he was having some angry thoughts at a person who came up in his feed. We’ve all done it, looked at someone on social media and started ranting at them in our heads. Well as my friend was doing this, out of the blue, his mum’s dog suddenly attacked his little dog. He knew instantly that he had created that. Attacking thoughts create attack. Every time we attack others, we attack ourselves.

Key Message – we need to be vigilant with our thoughts!

2. Glitches in the matrix

You may have experienced some strange temporal anomalies or ‘glitches in the matrix’. In the film ‘The Matrix’, there is the scene where a black cat walks past the same door, in the same direction twice. Interestingly, I recently had a similar experience with one of my own cats. She’d rushed passed me in the kitchen to go out of the back door into the garden. I left the door open while I was preparing some food and I noticed her come running back in, past me and up the stairs. I looked down to the counter for less than a minute when I heard her rush in from the garden again and saw her run up the stairs. It was impossible! She was already inside and upstairs.

I’d pretty much convinced myself that she must’ve somehow got back outside in less than a minute and without me noticing when I remembered my sister had shared an even more compelling example:

She was at home and put some rubbish out and saw that one of the house plants was in the bin. She lives with my mum and thought that mum must’ve decided to throw the plant away. Later back inside the house, she saw the house plant in its original spot. Thinking she must’ve been mistaken earlier, she brushed the incident aside. Later, my mum returned home and did decide to throw the house plant in the bin. My sister, seeing it was gone, asked ‘Where’s the plant mum?’ And my mum explained she’d just thrown it away.

Key Message – the macro world is not obeying its usual linear time laws.

3. Miracles More Often

Miracles are more frequent. Especially in and around nature. Wild animals seem to be responding and interacting with humans in a way that I’ve never experienced before. My horse story is one of those examples. And talking to friends, I realise it’s happening to them too.

One friend of mine is helping someone work through their 12 Steps and they were preparing to do Step 3 together. (For those who aren’t familiar with the 12 Step Programme, Step 3 involves saying a prayer together and handing your life and problems over the care of God or a Higher Power). My friend said the chap he was helping still wasn’t convinced that there is a Higher Power or God. However, they went to a beautiful spot in nature, the birds were singing, the sun was shining and a breeze was blowing. They found a place to sit and say the prayer. As they bent down on to their knees, a reverent hush enveloped them. The birds stopped their song, the wind dropped and everything stilled. Awestruck, they said their prayer into the respectful silence.

Key Message – Expect miracles.

4. It’s getting really dark

It’s always darkest before the dawn. In Narnia, the people are enslaved and ruled over by an evil dictator who has brought in what feels like an eternal winter. Just as they give up hope, the snow starts to thaw….

Anyone who has been through a dark night of the soul will know the depth of pain and despair that occurs just before something truly miraculous happens that changes everything. I’ve had a few of these pivotal experiences (I’m a slow learner).

One happened more than 15 years ago. I was living alone and after a particularly harrowing and depressing time in my life, I got home, fell to my knees and started sobbing. I felt such despair. Praying for help I told the Universe I simply couldn’t take it anymore. After a troubled night I eventually fell asleep. In the middle of the night I woke up to find my bedroom bathed in a soft white light. I looked around me and could see my room was permeated by and held within what looked like a fractal. It looked natural though, like it was made of organic material like a web. Each breath of air I took felt sweet, clean and fresh. But the most astonishing aspect was that the light seemed to be emanating a feeling of unconditional love. I was filled up with this feeling and it was beautiful. I fell back to sleep and when I woke again, my bedroom had returned to normal – but the feeling of love hadn’t gone. It lasted for 3 weeks, this deep sense of connection and pure love for everything. All my problems were still there but didn’t seem insurmountable or even that important any more.

Key Message – Don’t give up until the miracle happens.

"This is no thaw" said the dwarf, suddenly stopping. "This is Spring. What are we to do? Your winter has been destroyed, I tell you! This is Aslan's doing."

('The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' by C.S. Lewis)
